In a world that is constantly changing, the ability to adapt and grow is not just an advantage – it’s a necessity. The new TÜV Continuing Education Study 2024 has impressively demonstrated that lifelong learning and targeted training are the key to personal and business success.

Further training for employees is highly relevant for most companies. This is also reflected in the fact that three quarters offer further training to all employees. The most important goal for investing in further training is to maintain competitiveness. Almost half of the companies also see this as a measure to counter the shortage of skilled workers, as this is already causing problems for 62% of companies.

Key statements are:

  • More adaptability: over 70% of respondents see further training as the tool to keep pace with rapid change.
  • New skills are in demand: Well-founded further training is essential for all positions in the company.
  • Countering the shortage of skilled workers with more know-how: raising employees’ potential and making them fit for new professional fields.
  • New requirements due to digitalization and AI: The new technologies require a change in work processes, new qualifications and occupational fields. The success of the use of artificial intelligence in particular will require an education offensive.
